Woops, guess who's not been blogging???????

He he, whoops. i think I've been a tad lack lustre in keeping up with my blog. Mind you not having any other Internet at home other than on my phone does make things a tad difficult. I'm hoping in the next few weeks that we'll have the Internet at home, so keeping up should be easier, much easier.
So then what have I been doing these well past few months or so? Mainly I've been venturing into the world of steam punk and late Victorian costuming. Which was successful in varying degrees, let's just say that my first attempt didn't quite succeed, the second however, was fantastic, and has given me the guts to keep going and do more in the way of that time period. So I am now the very proud owner of an 1869 transitional bustle gown in grey and purple, I just need to make the accessories to go with it now, such as a mantle for outside wear and a hat or a bonnet depending on my mood.
I also finished the polonaise gown. Had a bit of a disaster when the bodice wouldn't fasten on the day at London film and comic con, but it was soon solved by putting in a placket and covering it with the neckerchief, I also managed to put together an early regency dress which thankfully did fit and looked fantastic on the day, I will at some point get photos up so you can see how it all looked. I've got to say though despite the heat on the weekend, the polonaise was really quite comfortable, I think all the layers ended up insulating me against the heat, I was actually warmer the next day in the regency gown which didn't have any where near as many layers to it.

I'm trying to work out my next move for the shop at the moment and what to make for selling. I've gotta admit I'm struggling at the moment, but I guess I'll get there.

Well until next time folks.

Ooooh first post.

Well, Erm hello there, first blog ever! I guess I'd better introduce myself : ). Sooo, I'm Gemma and I'm a historical costumer/ cosplayer from Yorkshire. I love anything from the Tudors right into stargate sg1, speaking of which I'm part way into a gender bent Daniel Jackson cosplay, basically I have boots and a hat. LOL. Atm I'm working on my new late 18th century underwear to go under my new printed cotton polonaise gown.
I have to throw a quick shout out to  American duchess at AmericanDuchess.com who specialises in as authentic as they can be historical shoes at really good prices. One day I will own a pair to go with my gowns.
I should be doing some posts about my costumes and such preettttty soon, just as soon as I work this whole thing out. But for now byyyeeee!!!
